Exhibition Statement

Hazleton Art League's best of the best are on display at this special two-month exhibition, showcasing the award-winning artists from the 2022 Members' Show. Featured artists are Jane Klesh Butkovsky and Jamie Lee DeNoia, winners of Best in Show for 2D and 3D art respectively. Jo Adang and Lisa Marie Ferry were awarded Honorable Mention for their 2D artwork, and Bret Huttenstine and Dave McGeehan received Honorable Mention for their works in 3D.

The Art League is proud to have these exceptional artists as members, and we are honored to exhibit their works in our Main Gallery for December and January. Butkovsky is known for her portraits and cityscapes, especially street scenes that play on reflections after the rain. DeNoia is an accomplished ceramicist whose quirky style belies her technical skill. Adang heads the Hazleton Art League En Plein Air Group and works primarily in oil on canvas. Ferry is dean of students and teacher at MMI Preparatory School, and favors abstract themes. Huttenstine learned his stained glass art skills under the tutelage of Howard Deis. And McGeehan works with woodcarving and encaustic with wonderful results.

Butkovsky, DeNoia, Ferry and Huttenstine teach regularly at HAL and Adang will be joining our faculty, teaching oil painting.

Member Masters will be on view for two months, December 1, 2023 through January 28, 2024.
